Jamal Stokes is the Founder and Associate Director of A New Look, and a dedicated member of his community. His passion for the organization began with the special bond he shared with his grandfather, whom he would care for and cut his hair while he lived in a nursing home.
That experience showed Jamal how something as simple as a haircut can provide dignity, confidence, connection, and love. Today, he brings that same spirit of care to A New Look, helping create an organization focused on restoring dignity, building relationships, and reminding people that they matter.

With experience in case management, family support, childcare, education, and community service, Cara is passionate about creating practical opportunities for people to feel supported, empowered, and connected to resources.
Through A New Look, Cara works to turn that vision into action by addressing basic needs while building pathways toward employment, family stability, childcare, housing resources, and long-term opportunity.

Our Board brings together individuals who are personally invested in the mission of A New Look and are committed to responsible stewardship, accountability, and community impact. As the organization grows, we plan to expand our board to include additional community members and professionals who can contribute expertise in areas such as education, housing, finance, social services, and nonprofit development.
